Your pH and Cancer – Part I

When was the last time you checked your body's pH? Have you ever checked to see if your pH is balanced? Do you even know the effects of having a pH that's too low or too high?

Your pH shows how acidic your body is and can easily be tested by buying test strips at your local pharmacy or health food store. Do not use old strips since the accuracy numbers can be off due to the paper sitting on the shelf too long.

You test your second urine stream of the day with the strip and it let's you know how acidic you are.

There is also a second saliva / spit test that will show your saliva pH.

Both of these tests should show a normal range. A balanced acid level will show between 6.1 – 6.8. The lower the number the more acidic you are and the more appealing it is for cancer cells to grow. Cancer cells love acidic bodies.

If your urinary pH is off-balance, it's an indication that you are not absorbing the vital minerals your body needs for proper cell defense. A saliva in-balance indicates your digestion process is way off! So checking both pH levels is important.

The causes of your pH being out of balance can be directly linked to the food that you consume. Too few alkaline foods are the norm for most people today. Some of the acidic foods we ingest daily are:

Meats

Beef

Chicken

Crustaceans & other seafood (occasional oily fish such as salmon is fine)

Lamb

Pork

Turkey

Dairy Products

Cheese

Cream

Ice Cream

Milk

Yogurt

Drinks

Beers

Carbonated Drinks

Coffee

Dairy Smoothies

Fruit Juice

Milk

Spirits

Tea

The alkaline foods that we should be getting more of in our diets that will bring your acid back into alignment and help your body fight cancer when you need it most are:

Vegetables

Asparagus

Beetroot

Broccoli

Brussels Sprouts

Cabbage

Carrot

Cauliflower

Celery

Courgette

Cucumber

Garlic

Grasses (eg wheat, barley)

Green Beans

Lettuce

Onion

Peas

Radish

Fruits

Avocado

Grapefruit

Lemon

Lime

Rhubarb

Tomato

Watermelon (neutral)

Drinks

Green Drinks

Fresh vegetable juice

Pure water (distilled, reverse osmosis, ionized)

Lemon water (pure water + fresh lemon or lime).

Herbal Tea

Vegetable broth

Non-sweetened Soy Milk

Almond Milk

"Green Drinks" are those drinks you find in powdered form at the grocery or health food store that when mixed with one 8 oz. Glass of distilled / spring water, gives you the equivalent of 5-6 servings of vegetables a day. I find them a highly convenient way of getting my allotted amount of vegetables daily when I do not have the time to eat fresh.

Another simple thing that will help change your pH if it's too acidic is to put 1-2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar in a 16 oz. Bottle of distilled / spring water and drink that all day. It is preferable that the apple cider vinegar be organic and not purified (which takes out a lot of the beneficial flora that has astounding health properties).

How can we expect the body to not develop cancer when we do so little to keep it running smoothly. By just adjusting your diet, you are ensuring your body gets the vitamins and minerals it needs to put up a good defense against most diseases we encounter today.

I challenge everyone to take charge of their health by just adjusting their diet to include more of the good alkaline foods for one month. I think you would be amazed at the response of your body starting to heal itself.
